Monthly Prayer Focus

GFA missionaries have dedicated their lives to sharing Christ’s love with those around them. As members of their communities, national missionaries have unique insight into the people’s needs and challenges. These godly men and women live sacrificially and care compassionately for those in their communities.

God is using national missionaries to transform entire villages, but the work is far from finished. Billions of people have still never encountered Christ’s love, so these courageous laborers serve on the front lines, sharing Christ with people who have never once heard His name.

Please join us in praying this month for GFA’s national missionaries.

GFA missionaries put in long hours investing in lives and communities, often ministering in areas no one else has ever served. Sometimes they serve in multiple villages, traveling by foot to share the love of Christ. They frequently face opposition and other hardships; this can be exhausting, both physically and spiritually. As humans, missionaries are susceptible to the same diseases as other community members. They need the Lord to enable them with the health and strength necessary to do His work.

Please pray for GFA missionaries to be healthy, both physically and spiritually. Pray for endurance, that they will not grow weary in doing good (2 Thessalonians 3:13). Pray for spiritual renewal and growth.

While national missionaries live simply and humbly among the people they serve, they still need resources for their daily lives and ministry. They need to feed their families, travel to neighboring communities and obtain ministry tools. They need resources to feed the hungry, offer clean water to the thirsty, provide income-generating gifts to the impoverished and intervene in times of crisis. Missionaries have so much compassion for those around them, but they need wisdom to prioritize the needs of the community and discern how to best express the love of Christ in specific situations.

Please ask God to equip missionaries with the resources necessary to serve their communities. Pray He will raise up ministry partners to provide for missionaries’ needs. Pray that missionaries will have supernatural insight and wisdom regarding the needs of those around them.

GFA missionaries are acutely aware that apart from the Lord, they can do nothing (see John 15:5). These servants need the power of the Holy Spirit as they work each day, ministering to people struggling with addiction or illness. Missionaries need the Holy Spirit to bring freedom and healing. As in the book of Acts, these signs and wonders not only improve a person’s life but also display God’s power in a way that transforms hearts. These things are accomplished “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6).

Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill GFA missionaries and work through them. Pray for attentiveness to the leading of the Spirit. Pray that those impacted and healed by the Holy Spirit would continue to learn of His love for them.

There is much work to be done and many needs to be met, but the laborers are few. Though national missionaries have made a great impact over the years, many more people still need to learn of Christ’s love. A new generation of missionaries needs to be called and equipped to dedicate their lives to sharing the Good News with people in need.

Please pray God will call many men and women into full-time service and they will heed His call. Ask the Lord to prepare and equip them for His work. Pray for humble hearts, and ask God to glorify Himself through them.

GFA missionaries encounter people from various walks of life who may not be immediately interested in hearing about God’s love. These individuals may be wayward youths, marginalized widows, desperate fathers, college students or community leaders. The need for Christ’s love is universal, but it can be a long process for people to recognize that God’s love is being extended to them.

Please pray God’s love will reach open hearts. Pray that as missionaries share this love in word and in deed, God will transform people’s lives.
